More information about the Aurora tours
Ask yourself if you want to spend less and end up going with maybe 700 people in a bus convoy, all parked in the same parking lot or if you prefer an exceptional experience in a very small group where there is a professional photographer assisting you and taking photos which are shared with you afterwards to make the experience even more memorable?

Vehicles: Depending on size, we use 4 seat 4x4s

If we don´t have availability on your desired date, we will try and find you a spot on dates close to your first option.
Do you need a tripod to photograph the aurora borealis? We have few extra ones, but let us know in advance.
We use the WWW.AURORA-ALERTS.UK THE GLENDALE APP to forecast and monitor Aurora activity, other apps are more or less useless in our opinion.
The fine print:
The Icelandic weather is famous for being constantly changing with cloud cover affecting our view of the sky, stars and of course the Northern Lights. With that in mind, we do read 3 different weather reports and decide on locations based on these predictions.
The only know factor is the moon, with strong moon and faint aurora the possibility to see them with your eye´s is severely diminished.
The Aurora activity is a phenomenon that can not be fully explained or understood so even though the forecast and most numbers are showing good possibility they might not show up if the Bz value is unfavorable during the night, but with us you will maximize your chances and be in the right spot to photograph them when they show up.
We do not offer refund but we offer a second try if we are unable to catch the lights on the first night (valid for up to 1 years from tour date).
Decision on going out or not will be made on the tour date, if possible around noon or at the latest around 6,30pm (18:30).
Useful information:
If you are travelling to Iceland mainly to catch the aurora, check moon cycle, avoid dates with 70% moon or more on the sky all night.
Make sure you are bringing warm enough cloths and footwear, warm wool socks and maybe handwarmers.
KP index forecast is not to be looked at when booking a trip to Iceland to hunt the aurora, some more advanced forecasts can tell if there is increased solar activity but it can not be reliably forecasted more than about 2 hours ahead of time if it will actually happen or not.
